JAMMU, Jan 22: Jammu Kashmir Teachers Forum (JKTF) today highlighted their demands in its meeting held here today under the chairmanship of Ganesh Khajuria, State general secretary of the Forum.
The meeting stressed for early release of Master Grade list of Feb 2014 which is lying pending for last 3 years. The speakers said that the deliberately delayed promotion list of Masters is hampering the promotion prospectus of teachers of Jammu division as more than 3500 masters grade posts are lying vacant.
The other demands that were discussed in the meeting include release of salary of Teachers/ Masters working under SSA/RMSA/NPS/Surplus Master which is lying pending for last 4-6 months, transfer policy in favour of ReTs, scrapping of screening test of ReTs and release of promotion of Plus 2 lecturers in different streams.
The speakers took strong exception to the long pending demands of teaching fraternity, stating that the education authorities are taking lightly the problems of teaching fraternity and without salaries the teachers are at the verge of starvation.
Khajuria in his address appealed to the Chief Minister to intervene and direct the concerned authorities for mitigating the genuine demands of the teachers.
The Forum decided to launch first phase of its agitation from the 1st week of February if the Government fails to release the Master Grade list of Feb 2014 and pending salary of Teachers/Masters working under SSA/RMSA/NPS/Surplus Master up to January 31.
