JAMMU, July 14:   Chairman Jammu and Kashmir Teachers Forum (JKTF) Qayoom Wani  today urged upon the Governor  N N Vohra  for his personal intervention to redress this sensitive issue.
While addressing meeting of the members of the Forum at Srinagar today, EJAC president  and   Chairman Teachers Joint Action Committee AQ Wani  asked the teaching community to gear up for their proposed peaceful protest march from  Sher-i-Kashmir Park to Raj-Bhavan on July 17, projecting demands of  implementation of 7th Pay Commission to SSA teachers/headteachers and RMSA Masters and linking of their salaries with State sector.
It was decided that thousands of teachers from all the three regions of the state under the banner of Teachers Joint Action Committee will participate in this historical protest under the leadership of Wani to press for their genuine demands and rights. All participants assured the Chairman that they will leave no stone unturned to make this programme a historical one and result oriented.
Wani said that debarring SSA teachers,  head teachers and RMSA Masters from 7th Pay Commission is a gross injustice and unacceptable to teaching fraternity. He  termed the issue very sensitive and based on just and logic.  Wani said that Government is unnecessarily harassing SSA teachers/headteachers and RMSA masters by debarring them from 7th Pay Commission.
He  said  untill and unless these issues are resolved,  teachers Joint Action Committee will continue its struggle and will not compromise under any circumstances.  Wani reiterated that teachers do not want confrontation neither do they want to waste the precious time of the students but they have been pushed to the wall by violating Civil Service conduct rules by not implementing 7th Pay Commission in favour of SSA teachers and  RMSA masters.
The meeting also finalised the arrangements for boarding and lodging of  teachers coming to Srinagar from various districts of Jammu province and far off areas of Kashmir region.
