JKTF chain hunger strike enters 4th day

JAMMU, Sept 29:  With the fresh batch replacing previous one, the ongoing chain hunger strike by the Jammu Kashmir Teachers Forum entered into fourth day today.
Those who sat on hunger strike today, included Joginder Singh, Subash Chander, Vinod Kumar, Subash Sharma and others. A number of teachers and members of JKTF assembled at the chain hunger strike venue, the Directorate of School Education Jammu premises.
The JKTF is  protesting against alleged pick and choose policy adopted by the Directorate in recent transfers of Teachers, Masters and Lecturers. The protesting teachers raised slogans against the Education authorities for violating transfer norms and maintaining a criminal silence on grievances of the teaching community.
While addressing the gathering, JKTF general secretary Ganesh Khajuria warned to further intensify the ongoing protest if the illogic transfer orders are not modified.
The protest dharna was also addressed by some other leaders of JKTF, who also highlighted some other burning issues of the teaching community and demanded immediate release of the list of Masters, whose DPC was conducted in February 2014. They alleged that because of slackness on the part of  the Education authorities, Jammu teachers were rendered junior to their counterparts in Kashmir.
Those who addressed, included Gopal Singh, Inderjit Singh, Naresh Sharma, Jatinder Singh, R D Kaith, Darshan Kumar, Harbans Singh, Sanjay Kumar,  Rakesh Bhagat, Anil Mahajan, Bachan Lal, Kusum Bala, Savita Gupta, Reva Rani, Anita Gupta, P D Singh, Sushma Devi and others.
