JAMMU, Sept 28: All J&K State Pensioners Association (JKSPA), Jammu today stressed upon the Government to implement 7th Pay Commission (PC) report in the State.
The issue came up for discussion during a meeting of the association held here today under the chairmanship of Madan Lal Abrol. The meeting was attended by all the executive members of the State body.
While speaking on the occasion, the members criticized the State Government for not implementing 7th PC recommendations. Madan Lal Abrol, while addressing the meeting, stressed upon the Government to implement the recommendations of 7th PC without any further delay.
He said that the cost of medicines is touching the sky and a doctor charge about Rs 500 per visit these days but the State pensioners have been getting a meager amount of Rs 300 per month as medical allowance for last 15 years. “Therefore there is dire need to enhance the medical allowance of the State pensioners at least to Rs 1000 per month”, he asserted.
The association urged the Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti to look into the matter personally.
