JKSDC members meet Health Minister

JAMMU, Sept 30: Newly elected members of J&K State Dental Council (JKSDC) today met Health and Medical Education Minister, Bali Bhagat, to discuss various problems faced by the dentists of the State.
A team which was comprised of Dr Bhupinder Singh and Dr Aayush Sharma (both JKSDC members), Dr Rajiv Mengi, (president, IDA Jammu) and Dr Gautam Sharma (ex-president, IDA Jammu), asked the Minister to pass orders to Health Department to conduct raids on the shops run by dental quacks instead of dental clinics run by qualified dental surgeons.
The team apprised the Minister that the clinics which are unregistered but run by qualified doctors will be registered in due course of time once the JKSDC is constituted, as State High Court has stayed the list of JKSDC members nominated by the State Government.
While discussing the saturation of dentists, they requested the Minister to create new posts of dental surgeons in the State and to provide interest free loans to unemployed dentists as a start up to open their private clinics.
Bali Bhagat assured them and said that all their genuine demands will be met in a time bound manner.
