JAMMU, Feb 13: In continuation of awareness campaign launched by the Jammu Kashmir Sharnarthi Action Committee (JKSAC) to educate DPs of 1947 from PoK regarding their pending legitimate issues concerning their one time settlement and called upon all district units to gear up for struggle for the resolution of the same.
In this connection, a meeting a DPs was held at Lower Gadigarh Jammu wherein, the incumbent Govt was urged upon to look into their issues seriously and prepare a comprehensive roadmap as per the JPC report to save them from further sufferings.
While addressing the meeting Gurdev Singh, president appreciated the Prime Minister for his statement regarding Kashmiri migrants (KPs) during his recent visit on Feb 3, 2019 wherein, he said that he has been bearing pain within him for their exodus and ensured their dignified and safe return to Kashmir valley. He expressed his regrets that State BJP leadership failed to provide him feedback regarding issues concerning the DPs of 1947 from PoK as he did not mention even once about DP’s sufferings and miseries they suffered since 1947 and onwards.
He further said that one can clearly understand the intention of Valley centric ruling parties and Congress for not projecting the settlement case of DPs for their own political reasons but BJP despite of remaining in power always showed cold response and never projected the case. Otherwise, Prime Minister would have done it much earlier in 2015 when he showed great magnanimity while announcing the package presently under disbursement.
He criticized the incumbent Govt for showing non-serious attitude for DPs particularly Satya Pal Malik for making tall claims and asserting that Raj Bhawan is open to all aggrieved sections of society. He said that DPs of 1947 from PoK are the most aggrieved class among refugees/DPs and are trying to meet him since the day one he took the rein of J&K State, to apprise him the totality of the issues. Despite many request letters and calls, they have been not allowed to meet him.
Those who spoke in the meeting included, Tarlok Singh Tara, Dwarka Nath, Rakesh Kumar, Ghajan Singh, Master Jagbir Singh and Bhajan Singh.
