J&K’s Prinkle enters 2nd round of ITF Grade-3

CHANDIGARH, Jan 3: Outplaying 7th seed and World Junior Rank 211, English player Eshter Adeshina in straight sets by 6-3,6-2 in the first round, J&K’s ace tennis player Prinkle Singh entered round 2 of the ongoing  ITF Grade-3 at Chandigarh Lawn Tennis Association Stadium, Sector 10, here.
Prinkle Songh will face Tanisha Kashyap of India  in the 2nd round.
In doubles, Prinkle alongwith her partner Sheikh Humera of Hyderabad lost to 4th seed   Eshter Afeshina and Gemma Heath of England In a tough contest in three setter match.
Prinkle and her duo partner lost first set 4-6, while in the second set, Prinkle and Humera played well and equalized the score. In third set super tie break score was 9 all from there Gemma Heath delivered  a superb serve and made it 10-9. I Again Gemma played a volley stroke and to win the match by 6-4 4-6, 11- 9.
In boys’ category, Sumitpal Singh won the qualifying rounds.
Sumitpal defeated Hari TaTa of India by 6-1 6-1 in first round, while
in second round, Sumitpal defeated Kanishk Pal of India   by 6-0 6-0 and in final qualifying round, Sumitpal got better of Krishna Hooda of India by 6-3 4-6 6–4 and qualified for the  main draw.
In the main draw first round, Sumitpal lost to Abhimanyu of india in a three setter match by 4-6 64, 7-6.
