JKRCEA demands reservation in promotions, warns to hold massive rally

JAMMU, July 24: Jammu Kashmir Reserved Categories Empowerment Alliance (JKRCEA) condemned the Central Government’s dubious stand on the varied issues pertaining to SC, ST, OBCs and religious minorities of the country.
Addressing a press conference, Sham Lal Bassan, President, Dalit Chetna Manch said that present Government first tried to finish reservation in promotions in various States including J&K, but unfortunately Apex Court of India stayed the DB judgment of J&K High Court.

“The bureaucrats in power corridors backed by both PDP-BJP Ministers and MLAs are hell bent to destroy all sorts of reservation for SC, ST and OBCs”, he said, adding that some upper caste engineers and doctors are also lobbying all sorts of reservation for SC, ST and OBCs.
On behalf of JKRCEA, Bassan demanded reservation in promotions for SC, ST and OBCs.
Bosh Raj Bhagat, All India Vice President Bhagat Mahasabha said that recruitment agencies supported by the politicians of the present regime have started violating provisions of reservation in direct recruitments and educational institutions. “We condemn the policy of the recruitment agencies and warn the Government of dire consequences if remedial measures are not taken”, he asserted.
Prof GL Thappa, President, SC, ST Retired Employees Association said that there was gross violation of reservation rules for educational courses in the recently declared list of various professional courses in SKUAST-Jammu and SKUAST-Kashmir and requested the Chief Minister to intervene in the matter personally.
Mohinder Bhagat, State President, Bhagat Mahasabha stressed upon the Government to immediately come up with the political solution to this very sensitive sociopolitical issues pertaining to more than 60 per cent of the population of J&K.
Abdul Majid Malik and Prof Kali Dass representing All India backward Classes Union said that if the Government failed to address the genuine issues of reservation in promotion, reservation in direct recruitment, educational institutions as well as if harassment of reserved categories employees continues, a massive rally will be held and repercussions if any shall be the only sole responsibility of the Government.
Among others present were Nazakat Khatana, MR Bangotra, TC Bavoria, Narinder Dutt Bhagat, Laknath, Dr Haridayal, Dr CR Mundaye, Kesar Singh, HS Bhatti, etc.
