JAMMU, Apr 26: There is well planned, well thought, systematic and ruthless bungling of crores of rupees in the name of Khelo-India. There is blatant abuse of Khelo-India funds and Sports Council has duped State and Centre funds in the name of games and sports.
This was stated by office bearers of Jammu and Kashmir Olympic Association (JKOA) while addressing media persons at Jammu Club, here today.
The Conference among others was addressed by Rangil Singh, President J&K Olympic Association, Ashutosh Sharma, General Secretary JKOA and Deepak Handa, President, J&K Yoga Association.
Terming Khelo-India as ‘Looto India’, they said that the Council authorities have distributed funds at will among unrecognized Associations and among those Clubs run by blue eyed.
The office bearers further said that the Council has sanctioned huge funds to the Private Schools, Clubs and Sports Academies at Jammu and Srinagar, adding that even those Associations which charged big amount of money as entry fees from the players, have lavishly been funded by the Council Authorities.
Mr Rangil Singh and Dr Ashutosh Sharma said that Wushu and Football were the only recognized Associations who have received Rs 25, 00000 each, however rest of the Associations recognized by Sports Council and their respective Indian Federations have been ignored by the Council.
Athletics, Judo, Gymnastics, Cycling, Weightl-ifting, Handball, Wrestling, Kho-Kho , Rifle, Table Tennis, Badminton,  Archery, Basketball, Boxing and Hockey J&K are a few Associations to name.
The members have requested the concerned authorities to initiate a thorough enquiry into the plundering of huge Khelo-India funds and the funds flowing in crores for the development of sports infrastructure.
However, the office bearers of JKOA and other Associations failed to produce any evidence or proof about the plundering of funds by the Sports Council.
