JKNPP to move adjournment motion for justice to Talwara migrants

Excelsior Correspondent
JAMMU, Feb 12: Seeking justice to Jammu migrants camping in Talwara, the JKNPP has announced to move adjournment motion in the Assembly tomorrow.
According to a handout, issued by the party, adjournment motion will be moved by MLA Udhampur Balwant Singh Mankotia.
Meanwhile, JKNPP chief patron Prof Bhim Singh has sought immediate intervention of Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh to save the lives of the Jammu migrants who have been starving for months in Talwara and other places.
In a communication to the Prime Minister, Bhim Singh emphasized the need to treat the Jammu migrants at par with Kashmiri migrants and provide them relief. He accused the Government of deleting their names from the list of the legitimate migrants as was submitted by the State Government in the Supreme Court of India.
Prof  Bhim Singh also accused the Central Government  of  ignoring the plight of Jammu migrants only for the reason that they were Dogras or residents of Jammu Pradesh. Relief was raised from Rs 400 to Rs 1000 per person or Rs 4000 per family in respect of Kashmiri migrants  whereas Rs  400 per month or Rs 1600 per family are  still being paid to the Jammu migrants which proves only the fact that both the Central leadership and State leadership have been acting hostile against Jammu migrants, he alleged.
The JKNPP leader further lamented that no scheme has been worked out for the rehabilitation of Jammu migrants while their ancestral and agricultural lands in their villages were occupied by the militants and trespassers with the full backing of   administration and NC leaders.
