JKNPP activist dies, 2 injured in road mishap

UDHAMPUR, Nov 23: A JKNPP activist died and two others sustained critical injuries when their Maruti Van rolled down into a deep gorge at Upper Balota near Basantgarh, here today.
The deceased was identified as Krishan, son of Bhagat Ram of Amroh, who was driving the van. The injured, namely Shanker Dass (Sarpanch), son of Mangat Ram of Amroh and Ashok Malkan, son of Des Raj of Rasili Thakrai in Ramnagar, were  shifted to hospital.
The deceased as well as the injured were reportedly supporters of Panthers Party and were on way from Basantgarh to Dudu for election campaigning when the Maruti Van, bearing registration number JK02Q-7121, met with the accident.
Meanwhile, a motorcyclist was injured when his bike skidded off the road near Dhar Road, here today.
The injured was identified as Mukesh Verma (18), son of Mohan Lal Verma of Adarsh Colony, Udhampur.
