JKMEF stages protest dharna, highlights demands

RAJOURI, Feb 27: A one-day protest dharna of district unit of Jammu Kashmir Medical Employees Federation (JKMEF) was held today here in the office complex of CMO Rajouri.
The dharna was organized under the chairmanship of JKMEF president, Sushil Sudan along with secretary general, Vonod Kumar Sharma. A large number of employees participated in the dharna and raised slogans against the concerned authorities for ignoring their genuine demands.
The speakers highlighted various demands of the employees, which included immediate clearance of DPC of various categories, creation of posts of LHVs in new PHCs and 50% quota to trained LHVs as Head Educator, release of pending salary of FMPHWs working in Sub Centres under 2211 Family Welfare Head and permanent solution of Salary Head 2211.
The association members also demanded risk allowance for all categories of Health Department employees, amendment of SRO 20 dated February 24, 1992, and removal of pay anomalies of driver and ministerial staff.
Prominent among those who spoke on the occasion were Sushil Sudan, Vinod Kumar Sharma, Farooq Mirza (Rajouri district president, JKMEF) and Adarsh Sharma (president, Pharmacists’ Association)
At the end of day-long dharna, the leaders of JKMEF warned the higher authorities of intensifying the struggle if their demands are not fulfilled soon.
