JKGB achieves target of 49874 enrollments under ‘Gram Swaraj Abhiyaan’

JAMMU, Aug 2: Micro Finance and Financial Inclusion (MFFI) Department of J&K Grameen Bank (JKGB) in collaboration with Regional Office Baramulla, Bandipora and Kupwara achieved the given target under Government of India campaign “Gram Swaraj Abhiyaan” in given 177 villages covered in districts Baramulla, Bandipora and Kupwara.
Chairman, J&K Grameen Bank, Janak Raj Angural, expressed his satisfaction over the achievement of the target of 49874 enrollments successfully under Gram Swaraj Abhiyaan.
Vipan Gupta, Senior Manager, MFFI Department, JKGB announced that the targets given to J&K Grameen Bank under Gram Swaraj Abhiyaan in Kashmir Division have been achieved successfully. He highlighted that 51677 enrolments has been done so far against the revised target of 49874 given to the bank after reallocation of the villages under the said programme with 103% achievement.
He highlighted that the bank has opened the accounts of mostly unbanked population in the most backward areas of the given 177 villages under Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana (PMJDY), Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bhima Yojana (PMJJBY) and Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bhima Yojana (PMSBY). He said that the focus will be on 100% saturation in the all 187 villages cover under all the three social security schemes in all. He informed that bank has already enrolled more than 80,000 people under the social security schemes.
Gupta said that the campaign mainly focused on to enroll every unbanked individual under Social Security Schemes viz Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana (PMJDY), Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana (PMJJBY) and Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana (PMSBY).
Representatives of various Departments i.e., BDO, LDMs, DDMs, Deputy Secty DFS, ICDS and many other local coordinators also took part in daily campaign of Gram Swaraj Abhiyaan. All Branch Heads, made people aware regarding use of social security schemes i.e., PMJDY, PMJJBY & PMSBY the schemes of the bank. They also educated people about the various lending schemes tailored by our bank for general public.
