JKEDI approves 274 cases of aspiring entrepreneurs

JAMMU, Dec 28: The cases of 274 aspiring entrepreneurs sponsored by Jammu and Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute (JKEDI) under Services, Manufacturing and Agri-Allied Sectors were approved by the steering committee which met at the institute’s office here.
The steering committee met thrice this month of December to clear the cases of candidates who have been trained by JKEDI to help them establish their own business ventures across the State.
The meetings were held under the chairmanship of Kifayat Hussain Rizvi, IAS, Commissioner Secretary, Labour and Employment Department. Besides Dr MI Parray, Director JKEDI, Ghulam Nabi Balwan, Director Employment Department, Rashid-U-Din Ahanger, Assistant Vice-President, J&K Bank Limited, Tej Pal Singh, Assistant Vice-President, J&K Bank Limited, sectoral experts from the Departments of Animal Husbandry, Sheep Husbandry and Industries and Commerce were also present in the meeting.
During the meetings of the steering committee under Seed Capital Fund Scheme (SCFS), 241 cases involving the total project cost of Rs 2440.78 lakh were approved. Further the steering committee in its 52nd, 53rd and 54th meeting under Youth Startup Loan Scheme (YSLS) approved 33 cases involving the total project cost of Rs 228 lakh. The list of the approved cases will be available on the Institute’s website www.jkedi.org so that the candidates are able to check the status of their cases without hassle.
