JKDF distributes uniforms, stationery items among poor students

JAMMU, Feb 23: Jammu and Kashmir Development Forum (JKDF) today distributed free school uniforms and other stationery items among the poor students of three Government schools in RS Pura.
On the occasion, JKDF chairman, Vicky Mahajan, was the chief guest while Mohammad Sayeed, Block Development Officer, presided over the function.
About 130 students, belonging to poor families, of Government Middle Schools, Jinder Mello and Kotli Bhagwan Singh and Government Primary School (GPS), Raipur Gujran, RS Pura were given school uniforms and other stationery items, including notebooks, pens and pencils.
In his speech, Mahajan expressed his concern about the pathetical condition of road stretch between Langotian to Jinder Mello and appealed the Government to take up repair work on it so that the people in general and students in particular do not suffer anymore.
He stressed on the importance of education and advised the students to work hard to successfully face the future challenges and become good citizens.
The Block Development Officer also stressed upon the parents to provide education to each and every child as Government schools were having sufficient and highly educated staff. He also appreciated the role of J&K Development Forum for the noble cause and called upon others to do similar type of social work for the betterment of the deprived section of society.
