JKAACL organizes Dogri Mushiara at Samba

SAMBA, July 30: The Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages (JKAACL) organized Dogri Mushiara today at Sh Amar Kshtriya Rajput Sabha, Veer Bhumi, Samba.
Sheetal Nanda, Deputy Commissioner, Samba, was chief guest on the occasion while Sita Ram Sapolia, renowned Dogri poet of the region, presided over the event. Captain Inder Singh, president of Sh Amar Kshatriya  Rajput Sabha, Dr Arvinder Singh Amn, Additional Secretary JKAACL, and  Ashok Gupta, Editor Dogri, JKAACL,  were also present in the presidium.
While addressing the gathering,  Sheetal Nanda  said that the Samba region, popularly known for land of martyrs, is also rich in literature, art and culture. While appreciating the poets, she said that to bring reforms in the society and mould the youth towards their rich culture, languages and values,  the poetry is an effective medium and such activities should be arranged focusing the youth.  She also desired an evening of folk and literary activity in the historic fort at Samba in near future in collaboration with J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages.
While delivering his presidential address,  Sita Ram Sapolia said that Academy was targeting remote and rural areas of Jammu province for spreading the area of activities around the region.
Dr Arvinder Singh Amn detailed about the future activities of the Academy and said that in near future a 2 day Folk Festival of the artists hailing from Samba district  will be organized with the collaboration of  District Administration, Samba.
The poets who recited their poems,  include: Mohan Singh, Sita Ram Sapolia, Bishan Singh Dardi, C S Katal, Mohan Lal, Tara Chand Kalandri, Mangal Das Dogra, Dr Jagdeep Singh, Pavitar Singh, Kuldip Kippi, Chandu Bhau, Kuldip  Dogra, Rohit Sharma, Pritam Chand, Balwan Singh Jamoria, Dalip Singh, Kuldip Raj Shastri, Keemat Raj Sharma, Chaman Lal Chaman, Satya Pal Garwalia.
The proceedings of the programme were conducted by  Ashok Gupta while vote of thanks was presented by Captain Inder Singh, president, Shree Amar Kshatriya Rajput Sabha, Samba.
