JKAACL organizes 4 day playwrights workshop

JAMMU, Apr 25: Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages today inaugurated 4 day playwright workshop at K L Saigal Hall, here today Cultural Academy ,Jammu.
While inaugurating the workshop, Dr Aziz Hajni, Secretary, Cultural Academy said that while conducting the drama festivals in various districts in the State it has been observed that there is a dearth of playwrights which emerged as a matter of concern for all of us including the people of all theatre fraternity.
The workshop aims at motivating the young playwrights having interest in writing plays so that deficiency of the playwrights in the State is overcome. The 4 day long play wrights workshop is being participated by the junior and senior artists, theatre directors, actors, scholars, writers of the various languages and the different districts of the Jammu division.
The eminent play wrights of various languages of the State have been engaged as experts who will not only give tips but shall also interact with participants in order to evolve a play by using the creative skills of the participants.
Makhan Lal Saraf, Mohan Singh, Kumar A Bharti and Dr Baljeet Raina are the experts of this workshop. Dr Sudhir Mahajan, Sr Drama instructor of JKAACL is the overall incharge of the workshop while Sanjeev Gupta is the incharge of 4 day long playwrights workshop.
