JKAACL, KPLS organize one day seminar

JAMMU, Nov 29: J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages (JKAACL), Jammu and Kenderi Punjabi Lekhak Sabha (KPLS) today organized one day seminar on the topic ‘Riyasti Punjabi Sahit Te Bhasha ik Mulankan’ here at KL Saigal Hall in Academy Complex.
Attarjit Singh, vice president, KPLS and a prominent literary figure in the Punjabi Literature presided over the seminar whereas Dr Aziz Hajini, secretary, JKAACL, Dr Sukhwinder Singh Sangha, Dr Karanjit Singh, general secretary, KPLS and Dr Arvinder Singh Amn, additional secretary, JKAACL, Jammu, were in the presidium.
Earlier delivering welcome address, Dr Aziz highlighted the programmes to be done by JKAACL in near future.
Dr Sukhwinder Singh Sangha from Regional Research Centre, Guru Nanak Dev University, Jallandhar, presented key note address highlighting the importance of mother tongue and other languages in the life of a person.
Dr Mamta Rani presented paper on the topic “Riyasti Punjabi Kahani vich Navein Prayog” while Khalid Hussain presented paper on the topic “Jammu Kashmir Da Punjabi Sufi Sahitya”.
Earlier, the seminar opened with the release of a book entitled “Soolan Da Saalan” written by Khalid Hussain. This was followed by critical appreciation presented by Dr Arvinder Singh Amn.
The other session of the one day Punjabi Seminar was of Punjabi Mushaira in which prominent poets of Punjab as well as J&K recited their poetry.
Those who recited their poetry were Sulakhan Sarhadi, Madan Veera, Surinder Preet Ghaneya,  Makhan Kohar, Beeba Balwant, Dev Dard from Punjab and Amar Singh Kuka, Ajit Singh Mastana, Baljit Raina, Bhagat Singh Zandik, Bachan  Bharti, Dr Monojit, Devinder Singh Vishavnagrik, MS Kamra, Des Raj Danish, Hardeep Kour, Deepak, Swami Antar Neerav and Bhupinder Singh Bhargav .
Dr Karamjit Singh conducted the proceedings of the programme whereas Dr Arvinder Singh Amn presented vote of thanks.
