JKAACL employees seek intervention of CM for redressal of their grievances

JAMMU, Oct 3: Up in arms against the alleged anti employees policies of  the authorities of Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages (JKAACL ), the Academy employees today demanded  immediate  intervention of president JKAACL,  Chief Minister   Mehbooba Mufti and vice president JKAACL, Zaffar Iqbal Manhas  to address their issues.
Addressing a press  conference here today in the Academy premises ,  the leaders of Jammu and Kashmir Cultural Academy Employees Union,  affiliated with  National Trade Union Front  J&K , warned the authorities  to address their demands, projected before them  from time and again,  immediately , otherwise they will chalk out  a comprehensive  programme of protest against the injustice, they are facing off.
The leaders demanded immediate promotions/confirmations of all the employees who were placed against the posts or eligible to be promoted against vacant posts. They   stated that  out of 49 placements,  only 17 employees have been confirmed so for  by the two DPCs held in last two years and 32 employees are still facing injustices  from the authorities as they have been kept out of DPC recommendations.  They said, the confirmations which were made by DPCs are contrary to the rules which govern Academy as they have been denied the seniority with effect from the date of their placements.
The State  president of JKCAEU  Ramesh Singh , divisional president Pankaj Sharma , vice president Sunil Sharma , secretary of the Union Ch Mehmood Riaz and adviser Rita Khadyal were  present in the press conference.
The Union leader alleged  that the employees of  Divisional Office Jammu are sitting in shabby rooms which were originally meant  to be used as  green rooms/retiring rooms.  “The Divisional office  portrays extremely unhygienic conditions of Academy which requires a change,” they added.
Objecting on changing of  Academy Recruitment Rules regularly according to will and wishes of the authorities to accommodate their blue eyed, the Union leader demanded uniformity  for each employees of Academy for promotion to next post/grade. They also demanded inclusion of at least three members of the  Union  in the rule framing committee.
The Union also demanded running grade to the employees, stoppage on  deputing officers/ official from outside to the Academy and  a suitable building for divisional office of JKAACL.
