JAMMU, Nov 28: Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages, in collaboration with Duggar Manch, organized a Dogri Kavi Sammelan for celebrating Madhukar Day at Gurha Slathia.
N D Jamwal presided over the event while Darshan Darshi was chief guest on the occasion.
The poets who presented their poems, included N D Jamwal, Vijay Verma, Gianeshwer Sharma, Mohan Singh, Darshan Darshi, Gian Singh, Sunita Samyal, Shiv Dev Susheel, Vijay Sharma, Randhir Singh Raipuria, Sita Ram Sapolia, Tara Chand Kalandria, Ajit Pal Sharma, Paviter Singh, Shamsher Singh, Dhian Singh, Bishan Singh Dardi,  C  S Katal and Daleep Singh.
While delivering his presidential address, N D Jamwal said that celebrating the legends of the region in their native places is an appreciable gesture, which needs to be applauded. He also complimented participating poets and said that the Dogri poetry of the present times has the worth to compete at the national level.
Speaking on the occasion,  Darshan Darshi applauded the poetry recited in the Mushaira and said that the Dogri poetry has been enriched in content and craft and the participation of youth in creative writing and Dogri poetry in general ensures not only the security in safe hands but also indicates towards the bright future of Dogri literature in general.
Welcome address was delivered by Dr Rattan Basotra, Editor Dogri, JKAACL and vote of thanks was presented by Mohan Singh, senior Dogri writer, poet and president of Duggar Manch.
