JAMMU, Dec 9: J&K women team has created history by winning Gold Medal in the 15th Senior Roll Ball Nationals which was held at Belgaum, Karnataka.
In this competition, teams from all over India participated. 12 boys and 10 girls from J&K participated in the event.
The women team comprised of Simran Raina (Team captain), Ankita Chopra, Mahima Khajuria, Ishita Singh, Suvidha Sarin, Ashima Gupta, Khushi Gupta, Garvita Gupta, Kavneet Kaur and Ruhi Rajput (Goalkeeper).
J&K women team defeated Haryana by 4-0, UP by 5-0, AP by 3-1, Chhattisgarh by 1-0 and Maharashtra in the finals by the score of 2-1 and bagged Gold.
The goalkeeper of the team Ruhi Rajput performed exceptionally well and was applauded by all. Simran Raina and Ankita Chopra also performed quite well.
Anil Sharma Chairman J&K Roll Ball Association congratulated the team, which was accompanied by Madhu Sharma and Sudhir Singh as Manager and coach respectively.
