J&K wins silver in Korfball Federation Cup

JAMMU, Feb 3: Jammu and Kashmir Senior Korfball team got silver medal in the 18th Federation Cup Korfball Championship held at Una in Himachal Pardesh from January 31 to February 2, 2019.
Earlier, J&K got top position in Pool A by winning all three matches against Haryana, MP and Rajasthan.
In the semifinal, J&K defeated Maharashtra by seven goals to five (7-5).
In the final, J&K lost to hosts Himachal Pardesh in a close contest by seven goals to four (7-4).
Varinder Kanwar, Minister for Rural and Panchayati Raj of Himachal Pradesh was the chief guest on the concluding ceremony, who distributed trophies among the winners and runners-up teams.
TS Wazir, newly elected President of Jammu and Kashmir Korfball Association lauded the efforts of the players and the support staff for this achievement.
