JAMMU, Oct 15: J&K State Powerlifting team won three medals in the recently concluded Sub Junior, Junior, Senior and Master National Powerlifting Championship at Lucknow in Uttar Pradesh.
The team was honoured by the officials of J&K State Sports Council in the presence of Divisional Sports Officer Jammu Ravi Singh and Weightlifting coach Inder Pal Singh.
The officials of the All J&K State Powerlifting Association namely Ajay Sharma (General Secretary) and Rahul Sawhney (Sr Vice President) lauded the efforts of the medal winners for this achievement.
Jagbir Singh won Gold medal by lifting 670 kg, Vickramjeet Singh bagged Silver by lifting 550 Kg in Senior Category while Aman Dev Singh claimed Silver medal  by lifting 450 Kg in Sub-Junior category.
Jagbir Singh also created history and set a new record in recently concluded J&K State Bench Press Championship by lifting 222.5 kg.
The State team participated in the championship under the banner of All J&K State Powerlifting Association affiliated to Powerlifting India, formerly Indian Powerlifting Federation.
