JK Tourism organizes road show at Jaipur

JAIPUR, Jan 29: The Department of Tourism in collaboration with J&K Hoteliers’ Club organized a road show and seminar here today.
Minister of Social Welfare, Minority Affairs and Wakf Board Government of Rajasthan, Arun Chaturvedi, was the chief guest on the occasion.
Justice KS Rathore, Addl Chief Justice of Rajasthan High Court, Rajendar Vijay, Joint secretary &MD, RTDC, Deepak Nandi, Special Secretary, Health Deptt, MH Mir, Dir Floriculture, Kashmir, Rajesh Sharma, Joint Director Tourism Rajasthan, Peerzada Zahoor, Dy Director Tourism, Publicity Kashmir, Mushtaq Ahmad Chaya, Chairman J&K Hoteliers Club and various travel trade associations of Rajasthan and Kashmir were also present on the occasion
Chaturvedi, while appreciating the scenic splendor and magnificent grandeur of Kashmir, said that the Valley is the choicest destination for the tourists world over. “Kashmir has moderate to cool temperature and it the first choice of the people of Rajasthan who have hot conditions here,” he added.
He appealed the travel trade fraternity of Rajasthan to promote Kashmir not only for leisure and its beautiful locations but also for its heritage, craft and hospitable people.
The J&K Tourism Department also organized a press conference during which Director Floriculture, Kashmir, Mohammad Hussain Mir highlighted the offbeat destinations of the State besides its unique features.
He urged travel agents and media persons to promote J&K as an alluring and fascinating tourist destination. He also threw light on various ongoing tourism infrastructure projects in the State and said that the main thrust of the present dispensation is to promote off beat destinations of Kashmir, adding that Tosmaidan, the virgin tourism destination was thrown open last year.
During the seminar, the J&K Tourism showcased State’s beauty through various presentations.
On the occasion, the department informed the gathering that J&K Tourism Department is organizing snow carnival at Gulgmarg from February 1 to February 15, which would be followed by snow carnival at Pahalgam. Besides, J&K State Cable Car Corporation during the Gulmarg carnival is also providing two free tickets (two children below 12 years of age) per tourist family.
On the occasion, Chairman JK Hoteliers Club, Mushtaq Ahmad Chaya, announced that hoteliers of Kashmir valley will provide 50 % discount on existing rates of hotels.
