Jammu, Jan 2: Jammu and Kashmir Speedball team won a big haul of medals to claim overall championship in the 9th National Federation Speedball Tournament in Himachal Pradesh.
About 400 players drawn from 12 States of the Country participated in the event. Out of the 75 players from Jammu and Kashmir, 65 bagged medals with 11 gold, 24 silver and 30 bronze.
While Jammu and Kashmir claimed  overall championship, the second and third place went to Rajasthan and Himachal Pradesh respectively.
Anupam Mehra, President Speedball Federation of India encouraged the outstanding players and asked them to be prepared for the upcoming International event to be held at Nepal in the ongoing month.
On their return, Jammu and Kashmir team was accorded warm reception by patron of the Association, Vijay Gupta and president Ravi Tikku, who lauded the efforts of Sunny Nanda and the medal winners for this achievement.
