J&K registers wins in Tennis Ball Cricket Federation Cup

JAMMU, Mar 27: Jammu and Kashmir men and women teams registered big wins over their rivals in their opening matches of the Tennis Ball Cricket Federation Cup, being organized by UP Tennis Ball Cricket Development Committee at Samporanand Stadium, Sigra, Varanasi.
In women’s section, J&K defeated Jharkhand easily. Skipper Meenaz top scored with 39 runs in J&K’s total of 86 runs in the stipulated 8 overs.
In the men’s section, J&K defeated Tamil Nadu by 21 runs.
Winning the toss and batting first, J&K scored 94 runs in the stipulated 10 overs. Sunny Gupta was the top scorer with 25 runs off 16 balls.
In reply, Tamil Nadu managed to score 73 runs, thus lost the match by 21 runs. For J&K, Sunny Gupta was the pick of the bowlers, who scalped 3 important wickets. He was adjudged as man of the match for his all-round display.
