J&K men, women teams begin in style

BELGAUN (KARNATAKA), Nov 28: Jammu and Kashmir men and women teams began the campaign in style, winning the inaugural ties convincingly in the ongoing Senior National Roll Ball Championship, being played at Belgaun in Karnataka.
Jammu and Kashmir men’s team defeated last year’s bronze medalists Chhattisgarh in an exciting contest by three goals to two (3-2). For Jammu and Kashmir, Hiteshwar Singh scored 2 goals, while Rakshak Jandial scored one. Chhattisgarh players also displayed skill and composure and scored two goals. However, J&K players played as a cohesive unit and held their nerves when it mattered the most to script a narrow win.
In the women’s section, Jammu and Kashmir eves defeated Haryana by a big margin of 5 goals (6-1). Simran scored maximum 3 goals, while Ankita scored 2 and Khushi netted one. The players of Jammu and Kashmir team showed extraordinary skills and dominated the proceedings from the word go. They made the contest a one-sided affair.
