J&K Karate team leaves for Senior Nationals

JAMMU, Feb 21: The screening of J&K Karate team was conducted by the Screening Committee of J&K State Sports Council at Indoor Complex, MA Stadium, here today.
After the screening, the selected State team left for Senior National Karate Championship to be held at Panji, Goa on February 25 and 26, 2017, being organised by Karate Association of India.
Earlier, the seven days Karate Training Camp concluded today.
The training was imparted by Ambedkar Gupta (WKF Qualified Coach).
The players to represent the State include Amit Sharma (Rajouri), Wasim Hassan (Kargil), Yuvraj Singh (Rajouri), Sourav Mehra (Jammu), Anup Singh (Jammu), Rajan Khajuria (Rajouri), Sahil Singh (Jammu), Sunil Kumar (Udhampur), Abdul Aziz (Leh), Irfan Lone (Srinagar), Digvijay Singh (Udhampur), Ajay Kumar (Udhampur), Anish Atri (Udhampur), Vipan Paul Sharma (Rajouri), Ovais Sheikh (Pulwama), Tanisha Mahajan (Jammu), Deepa Sharma (Jammu), Monika GM (Kargil), Saffa Masoodi (Srinagar), Poonam Salathia (Jammu), Aarusha Sharma (Jammu) and Azmat Bibi (Rajouri).
The team is being accompanied by Gulam Mustafa Mir as manager and Umesh Rekhi as Assistant Coach.
The officials who from J&K State Sports Council included Shiv Kumar Sharma (Joint Secretary), Bilquis Mir (Member J&K State Sports Council), Ravi Singh (Sports Officer) and Satish (Manager, Indoor Stadium).
Ambedkar Gupta and office bearers and other members of State Sports Council extended thanks to Secretary J&K State Sports Council, Waheed-ur-Rehman Parra for providing good facilities  in holding trials and Camp at Jammu.
