J&K Judokas leave for Senior National C’ship

JAMMU, Feb 23: After selection trials and screening by J&K State Sports Council, 14 judokas, with 7 boys and 7 girls, being accompanied by 3 officials left the State to participate in the Senior National Judo Championship to be held in Chennai from February 25 to February 28, 2017.
The selected judokas include Aamir Ashraf, Aman Gupta, Mohd Fazil, Rahil Shafi, Danish Sharma, Farhat Gulzar and Aman Singh (all boys); Shahla Illiyas, Manisha Kumari, Nippu Jamwal, Kabra Altaf, Poonam Sharma and Yasmeen Nazir (all girls).
The team is accompanied by Suraj Bhan Singh and Manisha Sharma as coaches and Mansih Chatwal as manager.
Thakur Rachpal Singh, former MLA and President J&K Judo Association flagged off the team in presence of office bearers of J&K Judo Association and J&K State Sports Council, Vikas Gupta, Varinder Dogra, Suraj Sharma, Ravi Singh and Satish Gupta.
