J&K in command as Javid, Mujtaba, Kamaihya sparkle

JAMMU, Dec 4: Brilliant bowling display by left-arm spinner Javid Ahmed and left-arm medium pacer Mujtaba Yousuf, besides magnificent batting show by Kanaihya Wadhawan has put Jammu and Kashmir in Command in the ongoing Cooch Behar Under-19 Boys Cricket Tournament at Country Cricket Academy ground, Gharota, near here today.
J&K were comfortably placed at 187/4, having a total lead of 271 runs, with Kanaihya unbeaten on 57 and Musaif Ajaz on 17 at the draw of stumps on day-2 today.
Earlier, resuming from an overnight total of 38/2, Tripura bundled-out for 148 runs in the first innings, conceding a lead of 84 runs to Jammu and Kashmir. Riaz Uddain top scored with 45 runs, while Arup Data contributed 33 runs to the total. For Jammu and Kashmir, Javid Ahmed was the wrecker-in-chief, who captured 5 important wickets by conceding 23 runs in 13.2 overs, while Mujtaba Yousuf took 4 wickets by giving away 42 runs in his 20 overs.
J&K began the second innings in style scoring 56 runs in 9.5 overs, before Abdul Samad was dismissed for his individual score of 32 runs. Kanaihya top scored with unbeaten 57 runs, while Qamran Iqbal contributed 46 runs to the total.
