J&K Grameen Bank organizes series of D-FLAPs in Kathua

KATHUA, Mar 14: J&K Grameen Bank, Area Office, Kathua, in collaboration with NABARD and assistance of branches of district Kathua, organized various D-FLAP (Financial Literacy and Awareness Programmes in Demonetization period) on the theme of Public Participation in Promoting Cashless Economy.
More than 80 persons, including Panch, Sarpanch, Numberdar, men, women and youth participated in each camp.
The main focus of the camp was to aware people about developments in banking sector and latest schemes. The participants were informed regarding various modes of getting cashless transactions from banks, various safeguards to be kept in mind in order to be aware and prevent cases of cheating/ corruption while availing different banking facilities with special reference to use of ATM Cards, Mobile Banking etc. People were educated about the Aadhar Seeding and Mobile seeding with their respective saving bank accounts. Ramdev Sharma, Area Manager, Kathua, said that due to active participation of branches of Kathua district (BO Chadwal, Changran, College Road Kathua, Jakhbar and Sherpur Bala), all the households of nearby villages have been linked with branches and in maximum number of accounts ATM cards have already been issued to account holders.  He enlightened people about new technologies available in the bank such as multiple uses of Bank cheques, Use of POS Machine, RuPay Debit card, KCC RuPay Debit Card, Net Banking, Mobile Banking Services, IMPS, Adhaar based transactions etc. He also made them aware about the merits and demerits of using such services and precautions to be taken care of while utilizing these facilities and advised people not to get trapped in fake calls. Apart from this he made them aware about various lending schemes. He sought support from prominent persons of the area for helping the bank in reducing NPAs.  He impressed upon the participant not to use any middle man for availing any benefit from bank and approach the Bank branch directly.
He laid emphasis on adoption of social security schemes launched by GOI (PMJDY, PMJJBY, PMJJBY, APY etc.) on war footing.
