J&K Grameen Bank launches farmer clubs

RAJOURI, Feb 27: Micro Finance & Financial Inclusion Department and Area Office Rajouri/Poonch of J&K Grameen Bank, in collaboration with NABARD launched three farmer clubs at villages Mallah, Pukharni & Lower Hathal.
These Clubs named as Baba Mai Mal Farmers Club, Baba Nar Singh Farmers Club and Shiv Shakti Farmers Club were launched in the programme held under the chairmanship of R K Chhiber, falling under branch office, Sunderbani.
DDM NABARD, Des Raj, who was the chief guest on the occasion spoke at length about the various schemes of NABARD.
RK Narang, Area Manager, Rajouri / Poonch J&K Grameen Bank made people aware of new Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (Prime Minister’s Crop Insurance Scheme) in which the premium rates to be paid by the farmers have been brought down substantially so as to enable more farmers avail insurance cover against crop loss on account of natural calamities.
Rupay Kisan cards were also distributed among the customers during the event.
Madan Lal Sharma, retired officer of the bank also addressed the gathering and shared his past experience. He informed the participants at length regarding the benefits of social security schemes named (PMJJBY) Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana, (PMSBY) Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana and (APY) Atal Pension Yojana.
Branch Head Sunderbani, Saroop Singh presented the vote of thanks.
