J&K Grameen Bank continues campaign ‘Gram Swaraj Abhiyaan’

JAMMU, July 9: Under campaign ‘Gram Swaraj Abhiyaan’, J&K Grameen Bank (JKGB) organised programmes in unbanked area at village Balhama and Chijhama in Baramulla.
Under the chairmanship of Janak Raj Angural, Micro Finance and Financial Inclusion Department (MFFID) of the Bank in collaboration with its Regional Office Baramulla and Kupwara conducted the campaign.
Vipan Gupta, Sr. Manager, MFFID of J&K Grameen Bank reviewed the progress of phase 2 of the campaign which started on June 1, and will continue till August 15 this year covering 187 villages coming under Regional Office Baramulla and Kupwara of the Bank.
He highlighted that during campaign the Bank enrolled 5972 people under social security schemes like PMJDY, PMJJBY, PMSBY and APY.
He informed that the ongoing campaign is in mission mode to promote social harmony, reach out to poor rural households, spreading awareness about government welfare schemes, enhance livelihood opportunities and re-emphasize national priorities including cleanliness and strengthening of Panchayati Raj Institutions. He also said that during phase 1 of Gram Swaraj Abhiyaan, JKGB conducted 475 camps by enrolling 11774 persons in just 19 villages and stood at number one in J&K State. The set target of 8651 was achieved successfully by the bank. He strictly advised all the Branch Heads of Baramulla and Kupwara region to open the accounts of unbanked population of backward areas of these 187 villages under Pradhan Mantri Jan DhanYojana (PMJDY), Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana (PMJJBY) and Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana (PMSBY). He advised all branches to attain 100 per cent saturation under social security schemes in these 187 villages given by DFS.
Regional Manager Baramulla G.R Bhat and Regional Manager Kupwara, Abdul Khaliq Malik aware the people about the Gram Swaraj Abhiyaan.
Branch Head Ghulam Mohiddin Hajam and Bashir Ahmed Bhat informed the people about various lending schemes of the Bank for general public available on easy EMIs i.e., Housing Loan, Transport Loan, Car Loan, Education Loan, etc where rate of interest charged by the bank is very competitive. RuPay debit cards were also distributing to the customers.
