Civil Sectt `re-opens’ after flooding

Srinagar, September 18: The Civil Secretariat that opened here today after 11 could not become operational as the ground floor of the seven-storey building is still under three feet of water and around 300 employees marked their attendance with the security staff before heading home.

Around 300 employees marked their attendance till noon and headed home as the Civil Secretariat is still under 3 feet water.

Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and his cabinet colleagues didn’t report at the Civil Secretariat in the morning when it “re-opened” after floods. However, three four ministers arrived after 11 a.m. These include Mian Altaf, Abdul Rahim Rather, Ghulam Ahmad Mir and Monhar Lal.
