Scores of protesting employees of JK Cements assembled here in Pratap Park and marched towards the Press Enclave, raising slogans in favour of their demands.
JKCEA, General Secretary, Javid Ahmad said that the employees are being deprived of their salaries for five months and there are other issues of the employees that need to be addressed at an earliest. “We demand release of the pending five months salary and updating of CP Fund. For the last four years, our CP Fund is deducted from our salaries, but has not been deposited in the CP Fund. Rs 300 of Department Welfare Fund are regularly deducted from our account but amount is not getting deposited in the separate welfare fund account. We want our earnings be given to us back,” he said.
Javid said everyone is supporting J&K Bank nowadays but nobody is highlighting their issues. “Our ailing corporation is being neglected and nobody is raising our issues. We are part of this state and we have a contribution in development of the state. Our children are being sent back by the schools due to non-payment of the school fees,” he said
The protesters appealed to the Governor administration to address their issues and release the pending salaries.
