J&K Branch of ICAI organises seminar on Finance Bill, cash deposit

JAMMU, Mar 11: J&K Branch of the NIRC of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI), organized a seminar on Finance Bill 2017 and cash deposit under PMGKY scheme, PMLA Act, Prevention of Corruption Act and Income Tax Act.
Dr Girish Ahuja was the guest speaker on Finance Bill 2017 and CA Nitin Kanwar, NIRC Member was the guest speaker on cash deposit under different Acts and Schemes.
In the first technical session, Dr Girish Ahuja gave a detailed presentation on the recently introduced Finance Bill 2017 outlining the changes in the provisions of the direct tax and answered queries on the subject. He explained the Sec 269ST in which no person can receive any cash from any person for a single day/event in a single day exceeding Rs 3 lakhs.
In the second technical session, CA Nitin Kanwar gave the detailed outlook and provisions of cash deposit under PMGKY, PMLA Act, Prevention of Corruption Act and under Income Tax Act. He also answered various queries raised by the members on the subject. He reiterated that errant assesse should go for the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Yojna.
Secretary of the Branch, CA Anish Abrol, delivered the inaugural address and introduced the new office bearers and guests.
CA Sudhir Kumar Arora, Chairman of the Branch, welcomed the members of the branch and the guest speakers.
In the end, vote of thanks was presented by Vice-Chairman, CA Ajay Kumar Gupta.
Executive Committee member CA Ashwani Khajuria, CA Shalay Razdan and CA Jatinder Jaswal were also present on the occasion.
