JAMMU, Nov 20: Jammu and Kashmir batsmen once again failed to hold their nerves when it mattered the most in a pressure cooker scenario as Haryana bowlers snatched victory from the jaws of defeat, bundling rivals out for paltry 157 runs, while chasing a modest total of 176 runs4, thus losing the Ranji Trophy Group-B Match by a narrow margin of 18 runs at Lahli in Haryana.
Earlier, Haryana after resuming their innings from an overnight score of 161 runs managed to add just 6 runs to their total, scoring 167 runs to set a target of 176 runs for the visitors. Owais Shah scored masterly unbeaten 52 runs but fell short of his partners. Bandeep Singh (44) and Parvez Rasool (30) were the other major contributors, while no other batsman crossed the double figure mark.
For Haryana, Ajit Chahal took 5 important wickets, while Ashish Hooda and Amit Mishra claimed 2 and one wicket respectively.
Ramdayal’s herculean effort of scalping 11 wickets from the match went in vain.
