J&K Bank dedicates dormitory for girls, smart classes to Balgran

JAMMU, Feb 5: Parvez Ahmed, Chairman & CEO J&K Bank today dedicated a fully furnished dormitory for girl children besides three Smart Classes constructed by the Bank under its Corporate Social Responsibility initiative at Balgran, Channi Rama Jammu.
Balgran a nonprofit and Non-Government Organization, established in 1975 for the care of orphan children, including large number of girls is providing free education and hostel facilities to under privileged children from the State, particularly Jammu region.
Parvez Ahmed inaugurated the dormitory equipped with all modern amenities in presence of senior functionaries of the Balgran and top management of the bank amid appreciation and applause. Soon after its inauguration, Chairman took a round of the premises of Balgran and inaugurated three smart classes equipped with  state of art educational facilities for classes 8th, 9th and 10th.
During one to one interaction with the children of the Balgran Parvez Ahmed took keen interest in the way children were being nurtured by the management of the Balgran and assured them  continuous support from the bank  to supplement  their  efforts in creating an inspiring environment for the children, especially the girl children.
On the occasion, Chairman announced “In future the Bank will sponsor all those children at Balgran who achieve excellence in academics and are selected for professional courses within & outside the country. For children, going to professional colleges in India, free books and full fee for the duration of the course will be provided and for children who pursue higher education outside India in reputed universities like Harvard, Oxford, Cambridge etc, the bank will sponsor the whole expenditure, including travel and Boarding”.
On the request of the Balgran functionaries, Chairman issued on spot sanction for establishing a modern gym for physical development of inmate children, procuring a 5KVA genset for providing uninterrupted power supply to the Smart classes established by the Bank and establishment of a recreational room by the Bank exclusively for the girl children of the Balgran with requisite indoor sports facilities. Chairman also distributed sports equipment and blankets to the inmates of the Balgran.
Chairman was accompanied by Executive Presidents, Mr Vagish Chander, Mr S S Sehgal, and other senior functionaries of the Bank.
