JAMMU, Feb 3:  Under its corporate social responsibility initiative, J&K Bank today dedicated an ambulance to the Central University  Jammu for the benefit of the students. The keys of the ambulance were handed over by the Chairman & CEO, Parvez Ahmed, to the University Vice Chancellor, Prof  Ashok Aima in presence of Registrar, Dr Ravi Kumar, Dean, Dr Lokesh Verma, senior faculty members of the Central University and senior management of the bank.
Earlier, an interactive session between the two heads of the institutions was held here in the office chambers of the Chairman. During the interactive session,  Prof Ashok Aima apprised J&K Bank Chairman about the various opportunities for industry academic collaboration for promoting research,  which he said was the backbone for sustainable growth in the region.
Parvez Ahmed  said that J&K Bank valued the collaboration with Central University and aimed at providing innovative, state of the art customized products and  services to the faculty and students of the university besides encouraging partnership with the academics for promotion of entrepreneurship culture in the State. He said that the ambulance facility to the university is a step towards bank’s commitment as a responsible corporate citizen of the State and reiterated the bank’s resolve to undertake such activities beyond the mandated Corporate Laws.
The Chairman proposed to set up a Digital Lounge and a full fledged Business Unit in the Central University Campus which was agreed to by the Vice Chancellor who directed the concerned for allocation of land to the bank for construction of its own building. The Chairman announced a Preferred Customer status to the Central University for providing its popular Phone Pe Loan facility for the faculty and staff of the Central University.
The Vice-Chancellor said that the kind of schemes and financial assistance provided by the bank for the overall benefit of the students/youth is definitely going to address the unemployment issues in the State. “I see a bright future as far as job market for our educated youth is concerned as the students we train will be future job providers instead of job seekers,” he added.
