JK Bank adopts home for specially abled children

JAMMU, Oct 18: Parvez Ahmed, Chairman and CEO, J&K Bank today along with the senior management of the bank celebrated Diwali with the inmates of Rotary Inner Wheel- a home for mentally challenged children at Narwal in presence of Bharti Vaid, Chairperson Police Women Welfare Association, Zainab Watali and Shafqat Watali, Inspector General of Police.
Parvez Ahmed took keen interest in the way children were being nurtured by the management of the home who despite having meager resources were putting all out efforts to make the lives of the special children better. Pained by the lack of resources and poor hygienic conditions of the inmates specially girls, the Chairman declared that the Bank shall adopt the centre and will make arrangements for renovation cum upkeep, development & maintenance of lawns, provision of ergonomically suited play stations, medical facilities etc for the welfare of the inmates.
He also assured the management of the home for specially abled children  that the bank will develop an institutional mechanism in collaboration with the Social Welfare Department to arrange to provide the services of professionals to train the inmates to address their personal hygiene needs.
“The celebration with these special children may be an occasion but the feeling of humility after spending time with the precious jewels on earth  will continue to inspire the bank in walking the proverbial extra mile for making a meaningful contributions in the lives of the under privileged sections of the society”, said Parvez Ahmed. Appreciating the passionate work being done by R K Sharma and support staff including the donors, Parvez Ahmed said “J&K Bank has always believed in making humble contributions under its CSR programme by transcending its formal boundaries of mandated contributions in the regulatory guidelines to empower all the individuals especially the ones from the weaker sections of the society”.
Bharti Vaid while appreciating the endeavor of the Chairman JK Bank to put smiles on the faces of the less privileged in the society lauded the Bank for expanding its role under the Corporate Social Responsibility initiative.
Later the bank organized an interaction with the inmates of the Home for Aged and Infirm Amphalla where the senior management and staff of the bank spent time with the senior citizens in the Old Age Home in presence of Chairperson PWWA Bharti Vaid, Zainab Watali, IGP Jammu Shafqat Watali, I D Soni President, Vijay Bhagotra Hony Secretary and other functionaries of the Old Age Home.
