JAMMU, Jan 7: J&K Bank Football Academy today lifted the 2nd Phase of the Mufti Mohd Sayeed Gold Cup League Football Tournament, defeating DFA Poonch by a solitary goal (1-0) at GGM Science College Hostel ground, here today.
Both the teams displayed excellent game and made good attempts to score but the defence line of both teams showed composure.
DFA Poonch played exceptionally well but failed to convert some chances into goals. Bank Academy scored in the 19th minute of the 2nd half as Bhanu Pratap netted a brilliant goal for his team. A large number of spectators witnessed the nail biting match.
Z A Thakur, President Jammu and Kashmir Football Association (JKFA) was the chief guest, while SS Sehgal, Executive President was the guest of honour.
Surinder Singh Bunty, Vice President JKFA presented vote of thanks. Prominent among others present on the occasion were Shiekh Mehmood, President DFA, Ramesh Chander, SM Gill, S. Kuldeep Singh, Fayaz Sofi, Rajesh Sumbria and David.
The match was officiated by Dheeraj Menia, Ricky Kumar and Suresh Gupta.
