J&K awarded for presenting eco-friendly smart city model in Surat summit

JAMMU, May 26: A model of eco-friendly smart city presented by Amit Sharma, Regional Director, Survey and Land Records, Udhampur/Reasi was widely appreciated and awarded in recently concluded Start-up Festival and Smart City Summit in Surat.
This eco-friendly and sustainable growth-oriented smart city model was presented by Amit Sharma during a special panel discussion on ‘Usage of IT & e-Governance to Build Futuristic Smart Cities” which was clubbed with best models/practices of smart cities across India.
Amit talked about a model of smart city which would sustain the influx of heavy population explosion but at the time, incorporate all the measures to meet ecological balance by ensuring creation of green corridors, renewable energy sources, proper waste management, water bodies preservation, extreme weather conditions resilience measures and at the same time, natural disaster mitigation measures.
He further elaborated various aspects and related areas which require total attention of stakeholders, planners and executors of various smart-city projects so that Smart City has sustainable growth and development over a span of time.
This model and eco-friendly approach towards building futuristic smart cities presented by panelist Amit Sharma from J&K was widely hailed and also awarded by Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani and Minister of State of Commerce and Industries, Government of India, CR Chaudhary during the felicitation ceremony which was held after conclusion of this all-important panel discussion.
Besides, Amit Sharma, Naveen Mahajan, Secretary, Department of Local Self Government, Government of Rajasthan, Dr Loveneesh Chanana, VP-Digital Government, SAP India Pvt Ltd, Vipul Desai, MD, Naturetech Enviro Protection Ltd, Vijay Kumar, Additional Commis-sioner, Agra Municipal Corporation, Niraj Tralshawala, DGM and Head of Payment & Solution, ICICI Bank, Saumil Dhru, COO & CTO and others participated in the panel discussion.
The points put forth by various panelists in Start-Up Festival and Smart City Summit Surat were noted down to forward the same to concerned ministries for inclusion in future policy-making regarding building sustainable futuristic smart cities.
