J&K athletes show promise in National Championship

JAMMU, Sept 11: Athletes from J&K participated in the 1st National 400 mtr Open Championships organised by Athletics Federation of India at Dharamshala (H P) and showed promise by qualifying for the finals.
Abhinav Kundal remained 4th with the timing of 49.93 in under-20 category, and missed the medal by a whisker. Vasu Sapolia remained 6th with the timing of 54.09 in under-16 category and Abrar Choudhary remained 8th with the timing of 55.40 in under-18 category.
It is worth mentioning that the State athletes performed well despite the fact that there is no synthetic track available in J&K.
Dr Ashutosh Sharma, Vice president Indian Olympic Association, Suneel Mahajan, President J&K Athletics Association, Ravinder Singh Sr Vice President and Sharat Chander Singh, General Secretary J&K Athletics Association lauded the efforts of the athletes for this performance.
