JAMMU, Dec 9: A voluntarily blood donation camp was organized today by Jammu Institute of Ayurveda and Research (JIAR) in memory of late Dr Roop Lal Sharma, founder chairman of Shri Sain Charitable Trust for Higher Education and Research, in College premises.
The camp organized in collaboration with Blood Bank of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Narayana Super Speciality Hospital, Katra, was inaugurated by chief guest, Naeem Akhter, Minister for Public Works, (R&B).
While speaking on the occasion, the Minister complemented the initiative taken by the Trust. He also visited the hospital and interacted with the patients and the students from Kashmir region undergoing courses in MD/MS, BAMS and Physiotherapy.
Seventy members of the staff and students from different colleges running under Shri Sain Charitable Trust voluntarily donated the blood during the camp.
Chairperson of JIAR, Suman Sharma, Managing Directors, Ritesh Sharma and Ravish Sharma, principals of different colleges under the Trust, and Vice Principal, Dr Nitin Mahajan, were also present.
