Jeera futures up on spot demand

NEW DELHI, Aug 7: Jeera prices were trading higher by Rs 170 to Rs 20,315 per quintal in futures trade today as investors enlarged bets tracking higher export and spot demand.
Furthermore, restricted arrivals from growing regions also supported the jeera futures prices.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, jeera for delivery in September was trading higher Rs 170, or 0.84 per cent, to Rs 20,315 per quintal, with an open interest of 6,435 lots.
The contract for this month delivery was trading at Rs 20,000, up by 0.70 per cent, or Rs 140. The open interest of the contract stood at 3,555 lots.
Traders said speculative positions built up by participants amid rising domestic as well as export demand led to the rise in jeera prices. (PTI)
