JDAEU stages protest, extends dharna for two days

JAMMU, Mar 26: JDA Employees’ Union (JDAEU), Jammu, continued their protest on the third consecutive day in front of the office of Vice Chairman (VC), JDA, in support of their demands.
The protest dharna was held under the leadership of Union president, Ashok Singh Jamwal, wherein the protesting employees raised slogans in support of their demands, which included regularization of consolidated, contractual, casual and daily rated workers, who have completed seven years of service.
The other demands of the union are grade to the helpers, 10% quota of plots/quarters to the JDA employees in the newly carved out colonies and enhancement of FTA for the field staff.
The union also demanded that major steps on priority basis be taken to safeguard the JDA colonies already established in Roop Nagar, Birpur, Kot Bhalwal and Gole Gujral.
Meanwhile, the union also extended its dharna protest for two more days i.e, March 28 and 29. It was also decided that on March 30 and 31, the complete strike will be observed in all sections of JDA offices. Moreover, the drivers of the department will not ply their vehicle on March 30 and 31.
