JCC defers protest outside CM’s house

JAMMU, Jan 31:  The Joint Consultative Committee (JCC) of State Government employees today deferred its protest programme outside the residence of Chief Minister this evening.
A spokesman of the JCC said that in a meeting  of the members of the Committee held here today under the leadership of Amrik Singh and Balwinder Singh- senior members, it was decided to defer the protest programme in view of Prime Minister’s visit on February 3. During meeting the JCC members expressed that they wanted police and administration to focus on the Prime Minister’s visit. Their agitation may divert their attention.
Meanwhile, Jammu and Kashmir Teachers Forum unit Udhampur, has condemned  the arrest and lathi-charge on the employees in Jammu during peaceful procession on Thursday. In a meeting of the JKTF held today under the leadership of Ram Parsad, the senior members including Rajesh Sharma, Chaman Lal, Ashok Kumar and others expressed their strong resentment over the attitude of Government for suppressing employees’ voice and warned to intensify their agitation if the employees’ demands remained unattended.
