JCB seized, 4 booked for constructing road illegally

POONCH, Nov 4: The Forest Department seized a JCB and booked four persons along with two Government employees under Forest Act for constructing road illegally through Forest area without prior permission.
Official sources said that acting on the basis of report received from the Beat Guard that some people were constructing road through Forest Compartment No. 153/M, under Nad forest area  illegally and causing massive damage to the forest produce and green trees.  Upon this, DFO Poonch directed the Range Officer Mendhar, Azmat Hussain Shah to visit the area and take action in this regard.
The Range Officer Mendhar along with other Forest staff,  moved to the area and seized the JCB being used by these villagers to construct a road through Forest area without any prior permission. The four persons were also booked under 26 Forest Act by the Department.
They were identified as Mohd Farooq  and Mohd Zafar (Both from Edu Deptt), residents of  Nad, Mohd Aziz, son of Kala Khokhar from Nad and Rahim Abbas, son of Mohd Aziz, also resident of  Nad village. A written complaint has also been lodged with the concerned police by the Range Officer against the accused persons.
