JAMMU, Aug 1: An Army soldier and a minor boy were killed and three others injured in two separate road accidents in Udhampur and Poonch today.
A police spokesman said that Lance Naik Pardeep Kumar was killed and two others including JCO (SM) Jagbir Singh and L/Nk Jatinder Kumar were injured when an Army Gypsy met with an accident near Tikri in Udhampur, on Jammu-Srinagar National Highway this morning. Both the injured were shifted to Command Hospital Udhampur.
Two persons were injured when an Alto car No. JK14/ 5310 met with an accident near Flata in Udhampur this afternoon. The car went out of order and was hit against a hill side boulder. The injured Mangat Ram and Chet Ram, sons of Sansar Chand of Flata were hospitalized. The police has taken cognizance.
A report from Mendhar said that 9-year-old Shahid Ahmed Khan, son of Mehmood Ahmed Khan resident of Galuta was killed on the spot while driver Qasid Ahmed, resident of Galuta was seriously injured when their tractor trolley No. JK-12/ 0887, skidded off the road and fell into a gorge near Galuta village this evening. Critically injured Qasid was rushed to SDH Mendhar where doctors provided first aid and referred him to GMC Hospital, Jammu.
