MENDHAR, Dec 10: Member Legislative Assembly from Mendhar, Javed Rana today inaugurated three days orientation programme on empowering youth on governance and development at Jammu.
The said orientation programme has been organised by Rajiv Gandhi National Institute of Youth Development under the banner of Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Govt of India.
A welcome and brief note about the programme was presented by Dr K Giressan, Associate Professor, Department of Local Governance.
Addressing the inaugural session of this orientation programme, Member Legislative Assembly Mendhar, Javed Rana said that youth empowerment can turn the tables in the society. ” Youth is now the most important component of the society and their involvement in local governance is need of the hour ” Rana said.
He further discussed about problems faced by youth and needs of youth empowerment.
” Majority of the voters in our society now is youth and we need to understand that youth empowerment should be put on prime focus so as to bring remarkable betterment in society ” Rana said.
He also said that there is need to ensure that different initiatives of Government towards youth empowerment are implemented on ground in letter and spirit.
Imtiaz Hamid Reshi, Tahir Qadri, Zeeshan Rana, Shabir Ahmed Bhat and Guftar Ahmed also spoke on the occasion.
